E&L Legal holds a Legal Aid contract, meaning our police station representation is free regardless of your income or means. We believe that financial circumstance should never determine the quality of your defence.
Our specialist military law service is one of very few in England and Wales to offer free Legal Aid representation at all Military Police Stations — including overseas and across British Sovereign Base Areas such as Cyprus.

Amanda Sheppard
Amanda is the founding director and principal solicitor of E&L Legal. She qualified through DPP Law in Liverpool, where she worked on the duty solicitor rota, and trained as a Police Station Representative at Jacobs Solicitors in Chester — building a reputation for calm, effective advocacy from the earliest stages of a criminal case.
Before law, Amanda served in the British Army — across the UK and in Sovereign Base Areas overseas. That firsthand experience of service life shapes everything about how E&L Legal approaches military cases. She understands the pressures, the rank structures, the fears around career impact, and the tight timelines. When she says she understands what's at stake for a serving member, she means it.
